Chamberlain 6.0 4 2 2 2 7 0 2.25
he gave up both runs and three hits in the first, then he settled down and dominated.

Joba's obviously older and more polished than Hughes was in Tampa, but he's been pretty dominant.
28 IP, 14 H, 5 ER, 9 BB, 32 Ks
No homers, and a sick 2.17 GO/AO avg (which went up even more today).

Chamberlain 8.0 2 0 0 2 9 0 1.61 Wordekemper (BS, 1)(W, 1-0) 2.0 2 1 1 0 3 0 1.42
he got fucked out of the win cause Wordekemper gave up the tying run in the 9th.

Even though he is older than Hughes, people should be very excited about Joba, he hasn't met a situation he couldn't dominate since we took him and he'll probably make it to AA at some time this year which would basically put him on the Clippard schedule. We had a monster draft last year.

He and Kennedy both deserve to be promoted. Kennedy's numbers are pretty striking as well.

they move very slow with their prospects with the exception of Eric Duncan. Go figure.

Duncan moved fast because he was being showcased for trades...I think that change in philosophy has helped most of our kids.

complete line. Not a great Joba game, but a quality start and 10 K's. Don't like the hits, walks or runs;)

Honestly, if he gets more than one more start in Tampa, I'll be pretty pissed off. This guy can help next year, move him along.

I think they want him to have a third pitch before promotion. I don't know how his change or curve is coming.

Don't know why they held him to 5. Too many hits, but great K's and no walks!

Probably pitch count.

Post by philinla on Jun 8, 2007 9:56:41 GMT -5
He threw 83 pitches I think, but was 2-2 a lot and they probably didn't want to get him over 100 with another inning. He was sitting 95/98 all night and hit 99 at least 4 times on the stadium gun.

So do we see him next year? probably at some point. The progress seems a lot like Hughes. Dominate high A. Move to AA. Start the next year at AAA.
