I know ripping SI's talent/value evaluation skill is like like swimming in the kiddie pool, but here goes: 1. Pujols. A lot of people's choice because his hitting is about as good as it gets. I won't argue though I won't agree. 2. Alfonso Soriano. What idiot really believes he's even in the top ten? An absurd choice. 3. Arod-I think he should be number one. If he still played SS, it wouldn't even be a debate. 4. Jose Reyes. Let's see: his OPS so far are 768, 644 (both in half seasons), 686, and 841. That last number was 61st among qualifying MLB hitters. Tejada was 16 places higher in an off year. *Joe Mauer was 95 points higher and he's a catcher. *Carlos Guillen was 74 points higher and he's a SS playing in a pitcher's park. *Derek Jeter had the 30th highest OPS (900) and won a gold glove at SS. He's young and may become a great player, maybe even worthy of the top 10, but not yet. 5. Carl Crawford. This choice can't be serious, can it? He's 67th in OPS and he's a freakin' corner OF fer chrissakes. A truly retarded selection. If you want speedy lead-off hitters, why not Grady Sizemore-at least he plays CF and ha decent OPS (907) last year. (Sizemore was #22 on their list.)
*Mauer was 57th (well behind Morneau), Guillen was 35th, Jeter was 23rd.

Chaka-were they? I didn't see that, but I didn't look at anything but the list. I heard M&MD talking about it (I put them on when I'm fixing lunch). If it was fantasy stuff, they should have ID'd it as such with big letters at the top of the article.

It's more for the fantasy crowd

Certainly looks like Fantasy baseball to me. That's the way the top 4 would go in most drafts. Fantasy baseball overemphasizes steals so Sori and Reyes are champs.
