Let's talk about the 2007 AL MVP right here. He's going to have a monster year and shut up all the idiots.

I think the Yanks will buy out his option and extend him at some time during the season.

I think he is gone. Why would he stay with the shit he has to put up with here
And, he did perform very poorly in the clutch last year. As BP said, the conventional wisdom was right about him last year.

I think the Yanks will buy out his option (unless all hell breaks lose) and chase the homerun record in their new stadium.

I can't imagine he won't consider moving, if only to get back to SS and get away from the absurd Yankee fans who think booing him is cool. There's a part of me that wants to see him win a ring and be WS MVP with somebody like the Cubs.

He had an off year last year. So he wasn't clutch becasue he wasn't as good. This entire clutch argument is silly.

That may have been one of the best interviews I've ever seen, simply because I got the feeling that Alex is finally done trying to be anyone but Alex. That really makes me happy. He's got a "fuck it, I'm going to show you guys" attitude, and he really needs to have a little chip on his shoulder at this point.
I'm psyched.

The Arod interview was the best I've heard in a long time. I think Make telling him he should tell his detractors to kiss his butt was right on the money.

I hope he doesn't allow the boo birds to drive him out. I believe the majority of Yankees fans appreciate him and want him to stay. He had an off year FOR HIM. Most anyone else would have loved to have had those numbers.

Dave, it's well worth it. They aren't nearly as bad as usual. The hosts were but A-Rod wasn't. He obviously had spent time thinking through the points he wanted to make in the interview, and stayed on message throughout. A-Rod is being way more assertive and candid than in the past. His deference is clearly out the window, and I think that he is demonstrating a temperment that he is more comfortable with.

I compare to when Giambi got a fuck it attitude a couple of years back. He needs to say to fuck with them.
I liked how he wouldn't say the fans had been fair to him. Too bad he didn't say most of them were assholes.

I really hope Alex starts strong this year.... Last thing he needs is to start cold and deal with all the shit that would bring on him. I think he is going to be a best this year 315/40/120

I hate to say it, but the Yanks could use a 90 loss season to purge the fanbase. Think about all the 20 year old nimrods out there who've seen absolutely nothing but unbelieveable Yankee teams since 1994...playoffs every year. They don't even know what it's like not to make the playoffs. I find their judgement to be severely lacking in all facets of baseball. They could use a reality check.

I couldn't agree more, but I don't want it to happen.
I still had fun going to games in the early 90s.

I did too...I have a video of a game where I caught my first foul ball against Boston in September 1991, and holy shit, was that a bad baseball team...but I still loved them.

Wayne Tolleson almost killed me. I was sitting behind 1st base and he bounced one passed Mattingly and into the stands. It went right by my head and rolled back down to me.
